In sports other than basketball, recruiting conversations during an institutional camp or clinic are not permitted between an institution’s coach and a PSA before September 1 at the beginning of the PSA’s junior year in high school. It will still be permissible to give campus tours during camps no matter the age of the PSA’s, and it will also be permissible to provide an information session about the recruiting process during a camp or clinic, however no institution specific information can be shared and no recruiting conversations can take place with PSA’s prior to September 1 of their junior of high school.
In sports other than basketball, an unofficial visit with athletics department involvement (e.g. contact with athletics department staff, athletics-specific tour, complimentary admissions) shall not occur with an individual (or his or her relatives or legal guardians) before September 1st at the beginning of his or her junior year in high school.
Therefore, freshman and sophomores will not be able to take unofficial visits beginning immediately. This includes drop in visits as well as planned visits. If someone stops by the office, you will have to ask them what year in school they are and if they are not in the junior year (past September 1st) or senior year in high school we will have to explain to them that NCAA rules do not permit you to speak with them at this time.
