San Juan South offers a select number of scholarships to assist with the expense of joining a competitive soccer club.
- Scholarships for each age group will be awarded once a year only at the beginning of the season
- At tryout or registration:
- Players are asked to check a box if they plan on applying for a scholarship
- Applications will be available ONLINE on the club website.
- All applicants will require a completed application along with financials
- Required Financials will include one year previous tax returns or W-2 Forms.
- Applications will be due 2 weeks after completion of tryouts for each age group.
- If applicant wants immediate approval during tryouts, the coaching director must direct the players parent/guardian with the application to the board, and a response can be given if all appropriate required financials are provided, within 24 hours from the submission of the application.
- Scholarship Committee will meet and award financial aid to players (U12-U13) or teams (U14-U19). Players and teams will be notified. However financial aid may only be applied to players who met the financial aid criteria.
- Coach will submit periodic evaluations to verify that players are meeting the terms of their financial aid award.
- If any financial aid recipient is found out of compliance with the terms of their award, the Scholarship Committee will inform the Coach, San Juan South Board and Director, and appropriate communication and steps will be taken to work with the team and player to remedy the situation.
- Financial aid is revocable if the conditions listed within the program are not maintained. Coaches are required to submit a periodic evaluation.
- Once the scholarship committee rules on the application and the potential scholarship funding for the player, there may be one appeal with the club's reservation to request additional documentation to make a final decision.
- If a scholarship player leaves the club the San Juan South will retain any excess scholarship fund.
