San Juan South Soccer Club – Supplemental Tryouts Announcement

At San Juan South Soccer Club, we are committed to nurturing young soccer talent in our community. Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive, and fun environment where players can grow their skills and passion for the game.

We are currently seeking players in all age groups for the upcoming 2026–2027 season!

NorCal Region 8 – Open Player Tryouts (Fall 2026)📅 Official Tryout Window

U8–U14: Begins May 5, 2026
U15–U19: Begins May 19, 2026
Open tryouts remain available through June 30, 2026 (or until teams are filled)

AGE GROUP CHANGES FOR 2026/27 SEASON

Additional Information

US Club Soccer (alongside most other youth soccer sanctioning organizations) has decided to switch back to a school-year–based age group system beginning with the 2026/27 season.

NorCal believes that we have both the ability and the responsibility to help our clubs navigate this change most effectively. A well-organized and thoughtfully implemented process will minimize the negative impact on your club and on the youth soccer ecosystem as a whole.

We also recognize that each club has the right and responsibility to communicate this process to their families in the manner they feel is most appropriate. To support you in doing so, we’ve put together a collection of resources to help guide you through this transition.

Norcal Tryout update

NorCal Premier Soccer Member Clubs,

New dates for the 2026-27 Tryout Window are May 5th to June 22rd (ages U8 to U14) and May 19th to June 30th (ages U15 to U19). The NorCal Board of Directors will confirm or adjust the revised Tryout Window (or a window for open player movement). This decision will be based on updated guidance from the State of California, public health authorities, US Soccer, US Club Soccer, and feedback from member clubs.
From now until the Tryout Window opens, existing NorCal rules regarding tryouts and recruiting still apply to all clubs:

NorCal clubs may not hold open tryouts (open to players from other NorCal clubs), in any format until the Tryout Window opens
Adult members of NorCal clubs may not initiate contact, for recruiting purposes, with any player registered in another NorCal club
Contact, for recruiting purposes, with a player registered in another NorCal club requires that the player be released, or written permission from the player's DOC (Clubs are permitted to send generic information on tryouts to players who have contacted them)
Clubs are permitted to request commitments from their current members and may register any players who are not currently registered with another NorCal club, at any time.
